School Prospectus Design: Education: The Marsh Academy

The story:
After gaining a ‘good’ from Ofsted, The Marsh Academy asked Hairyhand to create a new school prospectus that reflected this achievement and promoted an inclusive message to prospective pupils.

Their new building was very bright and colourful, which gave me the idea of the academy acting as a ‘shining beacon’ on the marsh that would attract new pupils. From this thought, I created the ‘Where people shine’ strapline.

I presented the client with scamped visuals for the pictures and once they were signed off I Art directed the photoshoot, using a mixture of staged, and natural lighting to illuminate the pupils and staff literally making them shine.

I then used effects within Indesign to make the headlines and quotes glow.

School Prospectus Design: Education: The Marsh Academy: Post 16 Prospectus

From our success in producing their main prospectus, The Marsh Academy asked Hairyhand to design their Post 16 version. The challenge this time was to create another strap line which fitted comfortably alongside the existing ‘Where people shine’ message. I also had to find a way of laying out the course information that fitted within the existing design style.

My response was to create the ‘A brighter future’ strap line. Once again we executed the concept by using photography and used a mixture of staged, and natural lighting to illuminate the pupils and staff, literally making them shine.

Again, I used effects within Indesign to make the headlines and quotes glow, in keeping with the main prospectus.
