Annual Report design: Irata
IRATA International, the leading worldwide organisation for rope access, asked HH Creative to redesign their latest Annual Report. In previous years, the design for the brochure was kept in-house, relying on a traditional serif typeface to complement the organisation’s existing branding. However, this year IRATA were looking for a more modern design solution that would present the data in a modern and fresh way, yet still be capable of showcasing the great photography and displaying the considerable amount of textual information, tables and graphical data. Initially, I created a range of sample pages and spreads that would act as a template for the overall design. This introduced a new typeface, colour block sections segmenting the content and tapered block sections designed to lead the reader through the report. Once approved, this layout template was then used throughout the brochure design. The white, blue and grey colour blocks frame and highlight the report information, whilst the photographic images form an impact-ful backdrop throughout the brochure.
